This is my favorite waffle recipe to make for me and my family. It is really simple and much tastier than the boxed mixes. It will remind you of those restaurant waffles you get out. You will need the following ingredients:

Recipe:
4 tablespoons of butter, softened
1/2 cup of sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups of self rising flour
1/4 cup of buttermilk
1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream
3/4 cup of whole milk

In a medium bowl add the sugar, egg and the softened butter and whisk until mixed together.

Add the flour, vanilla, buttermilk, milk, and heavy whipping cream and whisk this until the batter comes together and there is only a few lumps left in it.
Let the batter set on the counter for 15 – 20 minutes or you can make this batter up the day before and store it in the refrigerator and then make the waffles fresh for breakfast the next morning. Tip: Right before cooking you can add chocolate chips or fruit to the batter if you want to.

Heat the waffle maker and add the batter and cook the waffles until they are done. Then let them cool slightly on a wire rack. This will keep the waffles from becoming too soft. Enjoy!
Note: I like to make these waffles and store the leftovers in the refrigerator and toast them up in the toaster the next morning. They will cook just like a frozen waffle only better.
I like to serve these with a side of bacon or fruit and some pancake syrup and whipped cream.
