I love making homemade chicken nuggets. This recipe is so simple to make, and they are done in no time. I can cook these fresh nuggets faster than I can cook those precooked ones you can purchase at the store. You will need the following ingredients:

Trim and cut the chicken into small nugget size pieces. Season with salt and pepper or use your favorite chicken seasoning on these.

Pour the buttermilk into a shallow bowl or plate and then add the flour to another bowl.
Place the cut up chicken nuggets into the buttermilk.
Add the cooking oil or vegetable shortening to the skillet and let it get hot.
Roll each of the nuggets into the flour making sure to coat all sides of the nuggets.

Carefully place each of the nuggets into the oil and fry them until you can see a golden brown color on the bottom then carefully turn the nuggets over.

Cook the nuggets until the other side is golden brown and the internal temperature is 165 degrees. Tip: I like to season my chicken again during this step by adding salt and pepper to each side.
Place the cooked chicken nuggets in a paper towel lined plate or bowl and let the chicken nuggets drain.

Serve these chicken nuggets with your favorite dipping sauces. Enjoy!
Note: You can make these nuggets using boneless chicken thighs if you prefer dark meat chicken.
I like to serve this with a side of fries or just as an appetizer.
