Creamy Mashed Potatoes

This is a side dish that we have at least a couple times a week. I make my mashed potatoes with very simple ingredients. I also use a hand mixer to get that really creamy texture. I know a lot of people add more ingredients to their potatoes, but my family likes them just like this. You will need the following ingredients:

Recipe:

6 – 7 medium potatoes

4 tablespoons of butter

3/4 cup of whole milk

salt and pepper to taste

Wash and peel the potatoes. Then cut the potatoes into small diced pieces and place into a medium saucepan and add water to cover the potatoes at least 1 inch.

Bring potatoes to a boil and add 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the water. Boil for 15-20 minutes or until the potatoes are fork tender.

Drain the potatoes and add them back to the saucepan. Add 3 tablespoons of butter, milk, and salt and pepper and mix with a hand mixer until they reach a creamy texture. Add the other tablespoon of butter on top and serve. Enjoy!

Note: You do not have to mash these potatoes with the hand mixer, you can use a hand held potato masher instead. I have just found that the potatoes are creamier if I use the hand held mixer.

We love adding these potatoes as a side dish to a lot of the suppers we have. Whether it be pork chops, chicken, meatloaf, or several other items, these potatoes are enjoyed as a favorite side dish.
