Brown Sugar Fried Bananas

This recipe comes together quickly and easily. Especially if you have some bananas that need to be used up before they get really ripe and mushy. My husband used to think I worked really hard on this as this is a dessert he truly loves, but when he saw me making it in under 5 mins, he was amazed. It is such an easy recipe to make, and it truly is a welcome change to the standard banana split ice cream served in our local diners. You will need the following ingredients:

2 bananas

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon of butter

(This is for two servings)

Preheat your skillet on medium heat.

Peel and slice the bananas into long strips. (I cut mine into strips then in half as it is easier to serve this way.) Pour the brown sugar in a plate and roll each banana piece in the sugar.

Add the butter to the pan and as soon as it has melted place the banana pieces in the skillet and heat. Cook for about 2 minutes and flip and cook for an additional minute. Enjoy!

Note: We enjoy adding this to the top of some vanilla bean ice cream. The warm bananas over the ice cream are so good and don’t throw the sauce away that the banana’s leave behind in the skillet because this is equally as good over the ice cream.

These bananas are also good served over warm waffles or pancakes as the leftover sauce in the skillet would serve as the syrup.
