This is a recipe I came up with when I went out to my garden and harvested broccoli and green onions. I was wanting a quick slaw that I could serve for lunch and dinner that day, so this is what I came up with using other ingredients I had. You will need the following ingredients:

Recipe:
1 large broccoli crown, or 3 cups of broccoli
4 strips of bacon
2 green onions
1/4 cup grated carrots (I decided to add carrots instead of cheese)
Dressing
1/2 cup of mayonnaise
3 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon of white wine vinegar
salt and pepper to taste
Preheat a skillet to medium heat.

Dice the bacon up into small pieces and cook until it reaches the doneness you prefer. Place the cooked bacon on a paper towel to drain the grease off of it.
Wash and cut the broccoli up into small florets. Take a knife and chop the broccoli into small bite size pieces.

Slice the the onions and into small pieces and grate the carrots using a box grater.

Add the broccoli, bacon, onions, and carrots and stir this together with the dressing. Chill, covered in the refrigerator. Enjoy!

Note: You can use the mix that is in the bagged salad section to make this recipe. I just had a lot of the ingredients fresh from my garden so I chose to use them. Other substitutes or additions you could add: Cheddar Cheese, Sunflower seeds, Raisins and/or red cabbage
We like to enjoy this slaw alongside a sandwich or some meats that have been cooked on the bbq.
