This steak sandwich is one of my favorite hot sandwiches to make. This is a simple recipe, and it comes together in no time. You will need the following ingredients:

Recipe:
1 pound of sirloin steak, sliced thinly
1 onion, sliced thin
2 tablespoons of butter or oil
1/2 bell pepper, sliced thin
1 loaf of italian bread
1 tablespoon of butter (for the bread)
1 package of swiss cheese, sliced
lettuce and sliced tomatoes
salt and pepper to taste
Preheat a large skillet to medium high heat.
Trim and slice the steak into paper thin slices. Tip: If you will do this when the steak is a little frozen it is easier to slice.

Slice the bread about 1 inch thick and butter one side of each of the pieces.

Place the bread buttered side down in the skillet and add a slice of cheese, then the meat mixture, another slice of cheese and then top with another slice of bread with the buttered side up.
Turn the sandwich over when one side is toasted a golden brown color and cook the other side until it is toasted. Repeat this process until all the sandwiches are cooked.

Place the sandwiches on a plate and add the sliced tomatoes and lettuce and serve. Enjoy!
Note: You can use any type of thin steak you have on hand and your favorite slices of cheese to make this sandwich.
I like to serve this sandwich with a side of fries or some potato chips.
