I was telling my daughter about this cake the other day, and she wanted me to make her one. I had not made one of these in over 20 years, but I will tell you it was so delicious. You will need the following ingredients:

Recipe:
I small box of instant vanilla pudding mix
1 3/4 cup of milk
4 oz cream cheese, softened
4 tablespoons of butter, softened
8 oz of cool whip, thawed

3 drops of green food coloring, optional

Mix together the pudding mix and the milk with a mixer for 3 minutes. Fold in the thawed cool whip and set aside.
Crush the oreo cookies into fine crumbs. I use either a rolling pin or my food processor for this.

In another bowl combine the cream cheese and the butter and mix until smooth. Should be about 3 minutes. Add the powdered sugar and mix again.

Fold the pudding mixture in with the cream cheese mixture and fold this mixture until well combined adding the green food coloring to dye this like grass.

Take a 8 x 10 baking dish and sprinkle half of the oreos on the bottom and press down. Then add the pudding cream cheese mixture and smooth over the oreos on the bottom very carefully.

Next, sprinkle the rest of the oreo cookie crumbs over the top of this and smooth until all the pudding cream cheese mixture is covered.

Add the gummy worms around the pan under and above the cake. Refrigerate for 2 -4 hours covered with plastic wrap. Enjoy!

Note: This cake is a kid favorite. You could certainly make this recipe and divide it into 12 servings using individual cups.
