This is a recipe I truly enjoy. It was a family favorite recipe when I was growing up. As kids we especially loved this as it tastes a lot like hot fudge sauce. I like to still make this chocolate gravy on occasions just to have over biscuits, but it is also great served over pancakes too. You will need the following ingredients:

Recipe:
1 teaspoon of butter
1/2 cup of milk
1 1/2 tablespoons of flour
3/4 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa
dash of salt

Place the sugar, flour, cocoa and salt in a medium skillet and begin whisking to make sure you get all the lumps out.

Add the butter and milk and turn the heat to medium and whisk until the lumps are gone and the gravy has begun to boil.
The chocolate gravy will thicken as it cooks. Tip: You can also use water instead of milk but I think this tastes better with milk. Enjoy!

Note: You may want to double this recipe if you are making it for a large family. It will serve 3 – 4 people.

I like to serve this gravy either in a bowl so you can dip the biscuit into it or cut some homemade biscuits in half and pour the chocolate gravy over the biscuit and add a side of fruit. (My homemade buttermilk biscuit recipe is linked below.)
If you have any leftovers they can be stored for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. To re-heat this just warm it up in the microwave.
