Apple Cinnamon Monkey Bread

I like to make this recipe when my family is requesting a sweet breakfast. It is a really simple recipe to make. You will need the following ingredients:

Recipe:

2 cans of large canned flaky biscuits

1/2 cup of white sugar

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

1/2 cup of brown sugar, packed

4 tablespoons of butter

1 large or 2 medium apples

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

I use a bundt pan to make this recipe.

In a small saucepan add the brown sugar and the butter and cook this until it reaches a low boil. Remove from heat.

In a small bowl add the white sugar and the cinnamon and stir this together until it is well mixed.

Peel and dice the apple into small pieces.

Cut each canned biscuit into 8 equal size parts and roll them, a few at a time, in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place 1/2 of the biscuits on the bottom of the bundt pan.

Roll 1/2 of the apples in the cinnamon mixture and place them in the bundt pan on top of the biscuits.

Repeat this one more time using the rest of the biscuits and the apples.

Pour the melted butter mixture over the top of the apples and place the bundt pan into the oven. Bake for 40 minutes, or until the biscuits are cooked through and light and golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let this sit for 5 minutes. Carefully place a large plate over the bundt pan and flip this. Make sure that the plate is larger than the bundt pan because you do not want to get burnt with the hot syrup that this recipe produces. Enjoy!

Note: I like to serve this apple cinnamon monkey bread as it is but you could add coconut, pecans, walnuts and/or raisins into the mixture. You can also add a simple glaze if you wish to have this recipe be just a little sweeter.

I like to serve this warm from the oven with a side of bacon or sausage.
