Crispy Chicken Strips

I love making homemade chicken strips as they are a family favorite that goes with many different side dishes. This recipe is so simple to make, and it takes less than 20 minutes. You will need the following ingredients:

Recipe:

2 boneless chicken breasts

1 cup of flour

1 cup of whole buttermilk

1 cup of vegetable oil, or your favorite frying oil

salt and pepper to taste

Trim and slice the chicken breast, against the grain, into thin strips.

Pour the buttermilk into a small bowl. Add the flour to another bowl with some salt and pepper. Stir the seasoned flour with a fork.

Place the chicken strips into the buttermilk and let them soak while the oil is heating up.

Preheat a large non-stick skillet to medium high and add the oil.

When the oil is heated to about 350 degrees, add the chicken to the flour, a few pieces at a time, and coat each chicken strip on all sides with the flour.

Place the chicken carefully into the hot oil and make sure to leave room around each piece. You will have to fry these strips in batches. Cook the chicken until it is golden brown on each side and it is 165 degrees internally.

Line a plate with paper towels. Remove the cooked chicken from the skillet and place it on the paper towels to drain. Continue cooking until all the chicken has cooked through.

Serve these chicken strips with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!

Note: You can use chicken tenders to make this recipe.

I like to serve these chicken strips with a side salad and some honey mustard, bbq or ranch for dipping sauces.
