Drip Beef Sandwiches in the Slow Cooker

This is one of my daughter’s favorite sandwiches that I make. It is so simple to make using a crockpot and cooking this all day long on low. You will need the following ingredients:

Recipe:

3/4 – 1 pound of sirloin steak

1/2 of an onion

1 jar of pepperoncini peppers, mild or medium

2 cups of beef broth

1 package au jus gravy mix

1 cup of water

1 package of sub rolls

salt and pepper to taste

Begin by slicing the steak really thin. This will slice easier if you place the steak in the freezer for 30 – 45 minutes before you are ready to slice it. Always slice the steak against the grain for a more tender slice.

Slice the onions into thin slices

Mix the au jus mix with the 2 cups of beef broth and stir until it is no longer lumpy. Pour this mixture into the crockpot along with the other cup of water.

Place the steak and onions into the gravy mix and stir together.

Add the pepperoncini peppers along with 1/2 cup of the pepper brine that is in the jar.

Cook on low for 6 – 8 hours or on high for 4 -6 hours.

Remove the steak and onions from the crockpot and place in the sliced sub rolls. Add some of the juice that is left in the crockpot into a small bowl on the side so you can dip the sandwich into it while you are eating. Enjoy!

Note: You can use any cut of beef you like. You can also leave the onions out if you are not a fan of them and you could add some cheese if you enjoy cheese on your sandwiches.

We like to serve these sandwiches very simple with a side of chips.
