It’s strawberry season around here and so we have an abundance of fresh strawberries every day from our patch. So, we came up with an easy fruit cobbler recipe to enjoy these. You will need the following ingredients:

Recipe:
2 cups of fresh strawberries
1 cup of self rising flour
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup butter, or 1 stick

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and using an iron skillet, or whatever dish you are using to bake this, add the butter and place it into the oven so the butter melts while the oven is preheating.
Wash and hull your strawberries and then slice into small pieces and place into a small bowl.

In a medium size bowl add the flour, sugar, and milk and the melted butter and stir until mixed.

Pour the batter mixture into the skillet and then place the strawberries on top of this cobbler mixture, but do not stir it.

Place this dish into the oven and bake for 35 – 40 minutes or until golden brown on top. Enjoy!

Note: You can use frozen strawberries to make this but I would recommend placing them into a colander to thaw and drain before you place them into the cobbler mixture to bake. If you don’t, your cobbler could become too juicy.
We love to serve this cobbler warm with a little vanilla ice cream on the side but, you can certainly enjoy it just as it is.
This cobbler can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
