This cube steak recipe is one of my family’s favorite ways to eat cubed steak. This steak is so tender that it just falls apart. I cook this recipe in my slow cooker. You will need the following ingredients:

1/2 cup of flour

Place the steak into the skillet and cook them on both sides until they are golden brown. This will take about 3 minutes or so.

You just want the steaks browned not cooked through.

Place the onions in the bottom of the slow cooker. Add the browned cube steak to the top of the onions.

Pour the mushroom and brown gravy into a medium bowl with some parsley flakes and add three cups of water and whisk this together. Tip: You can add beef broth instead but be mindful of the salt.

Pour the gravy mixture over the cube steaks and slow cook this on low for 4 – 6 hours. Enjoy!

Note: You can leave the browning of the steaks out if you do not have the time but this adds an extra layer of flavor to this dish.
I like to serve this cube steak and gravy over some creamy mashed potatoes with a side of green beans. This would also be delicious over rice or egg noodles.
