Ribeye Steak Sandwich

I visited a restaurant and had a shaved ribeye steak sandwich, and it was so delicious that I decided to see if I could recreate the sandwich at home. This recipe tastes almost exactly like the one I had. You will need the following ingredients:

Recipe:

1 tablespoon of oil

1 pound of ribeye steaks, shaved thinly

1 cup of bell peppers, sliced thinly

1 onion, sliced thinly

1 cup of colby jack cheese, shredded or sliced

4 sandwich hoagie buns

1 teaspoon of butter

1/2 teaspoon of longhorn seasoning (I will link my recipe below)

1/2 teaspoon of steakhouse seasoning

salt and pepper to taste

Preheat a medium skillet to medium high heat.

Season the shaved ribeye with the steakhouse seasoning, longhorn seasoning, salt and pepper and stir this around to coat this evenly.

Add the oil to the skillet, and let it get hot. Add the steak and stir this around making sure to have the entire skillet covered with the steak. Tip: You may have to use two forks or spoons to separate it.

Cook the steak for 5 minutes stirring it around often. Add the peppers and onions and cook them until they are as tender as you like. I like mine to be a little crispy.

Preheat the oven to broil.

Slice the buns open and coat the top of the buns with butter then add the steak, onion and pepper mixture. Sprinkle the cheese over the top.

Place the sandwiches under the broiler until the cheese has melted and the buns have toasted a golden brown. I like to place my sandwiches under the broiler standing up.

Remove the sandwiches from the broiler and serve. Enjoy!

Note: I have used several different varieties of cheese to add to these sandwiches. Swiss and white american are two of my favorites. You can also make this recipe using shaved chicken breast.

I like to serve this sandwich with a side of homemade chips or fries.
