Classic Cream Cheese Icing

I love making this cream cheese icing recipe as it is an icing recipe that goes on so many different desserts. This is a simple recipe that you can dress up by adding some pecans, walnuts, sprinkles and many other add-ins. You will need the following ingredients:

Recipe:

1 pound box of confectioners sugar

1 stick of salted butter, room temperature

1 8oz package of cream cheese, room temperature

1 teaspoon of vanilla flavoring

I like to use a hand mixer to mix this icing as I always get a much creamier and fluffier icing. You can use a whisk but you will need a sturdy one.

Place the cream cheese and the butter into a medium bowl and whisk this together until the butter and cream cheese are combined and fluffy. This will take about 3 minutes or so.

Carefully add 1/2 of the powdered sugar and mix it in then add the other half and mix this until it is creamy. Add the vanilla flavoring and mix again. You can use this icing now or store this in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Enjoy!

Note: You can use this to ice red velvet cake, italian cream cake, carrot cake, banana cake, devil’s food cake and many more desserts.

I like to use this on many different desserts as I find this to be very versatile to so many things.

I would recommend storing the iced dessert in the refrigerator and take the dessert out about 5 – 10 minutes before serving
