Apple Crisp

If you have some apples that need to be used up this is a great recipe for you. This is a family favorite that we make using apples that are fresh or that are getting old and just laying around needing to be used up. You can use any apples your family likes. From tart to sweet this is a great apple dessert recipe to try. You will need the following:

Take a 8 x 8 dish and place the sliced apples in the bottom of the dish. In a separate bowl, combine the brown sugar, oatmeal, flour, butter and salt and combine well until it reaches a crumble mixture. Place the mixture over the apples and bake for 35 minutes. Serve.

This is a great recipe to have by itself or served with vanilla ice cream. I have also used this recipe using peaches, strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries. No matter what fruit you use it is just simply a delicious and easy dessert to make.

Note: If you want to make this dessert even easier, try using store bought pie filling. Just pick your favorite flavor and add it to the bottom of the 8 X 8 dish and mix the topping, crumble it over the pie filling and bake as directed above.
