I love making homemade beef and broccoli for dinner for my family as I can control the quality of ingredients. This is a simple recipe, and it comes together quickly. You will need the following ingredients:

In a large mixing cup add the sherry, brown sugar, soy sauce, ginger, garlic and corn starch and stir this together until the corn starch has dissolved.
Pour half of the marinade into another bowl to save for later.

Place the thin sliced steak into the other 1/2 of the marinade and let this sit for 15 minutes or so before cooking. Tip: I do this first then I prepare the vegetables so that everything is ready at one time.
Preheat a large skillet to medium high heat and add the oil. Stir in the broccoli and the onions and cook them for about 3 – 5 minutes or until they are slightly tender then remove them from the skillet onto a plate and sit aside.
Add the steak into the skillet using a fork so that the leftover marinade is left in the bowl and make sure that one side of the steak is touching the hot skillet. It is okay if you have to cook the steak in batches. Cook the steak for 5 -7 minutes or until the steak is cooked through.

Add the broccoli and the onions back into the skillet and pour the reserved 1/2 of marinade into the skillet and cook until the sauce thickens. This will take about 2 – 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and serve. Enjoy!
Note: You can serve this wil any vegetables you enjoy in your chinese stir fry recipes.
I like to serve this with a side of jasmine rice and a sprinkle of green onions on the top.
